I decided I wanted to enter a new world of garment making I had not yet tried - a pair of jeans!!! I felt it was time for a good pair of high waisted pants, which seemed the perfect opportunity to take on this daunting task.

I had an itch to make a shirt with the idea that I would use a specific piece of fabric. Of course it turned into a whole process of dying some wool remnants from my day job and then scrapping the original idea entirely. Even though the outcome isn't what I had originally intended, the design (patterned by me) is exactly what I wanted and it looks great! The super lightweight wool with a high-low hem should be great for these early summer days.
Muslin Scrap Quilt at IQF Chicago
Here's my quilt at the International Quilt Festival in Chicago! I couldn't go so my mom went to see it for me. Thanks Mom!
I will say that I am not impressed with the hanging that they did but that's out of my hands...
Baltimore Quilt Expo
This past weekend was the Baltimore Heritage Quilt Guild's Quilt Expo. I stopped by on Sunday to see all the quilts made by local quilters! It was a great show - lots of quilts, vendors and prizes. Plus it was at a beautiful location. I recommend going next year if you have a chance. This is the quilt guild that I take my CCBC Beginning Quilting students to for our last class. They are truly a great group!

Entrelac Headband
Ah the basketweave! I love this knit pattern so much. A great texture and look without being too complicated
Here's a hand-knit headband I just finished with the entrelac pattern and a twist added at the front. This is for sale! Contact me if you are interested
Drunkard's Path
Started work on this tiny quilt! 1" squares and lots of hand sewing ahead. I'm currently at a contra dance weekend in Saratoga Springs, NY (Flurry!) and using my down time to sew sew sew and get more quilts with circles into my life
And now all squared up!
Bed skirts
I finally got a bed frame so bedskirt was the obvious next step! Made this and a second one for my dad today. My rug was made by my good friend Isobel
Re-documenting
Colin helped me document this quilt in the snow a second time because I added a border after I finished it once. Yes, I took the binding off and undid some quilting in order to do that. But at least it fits my bed better! #thankscolin
