August 2025 - sewing, tie-dye, camping, moving

August - when summer is in FULL swing, an excellent and often very hot month. I tried to keep my schedule more open in August, which worked well for me because I ended up spending most of the month moving to a new house (and consequently, new studio!). I am out of the basement and into 2 upstairs bedrooms in a big house! I am already loving watching the sun set while I sew :)

I still taught a small handful of classes in August, including Monster Stuffies at Modern Domestic, a big shibori tie dye at Camp Craftaway in Washington, and a visible mending workshop with MakeWith in SE Portland. This was my first time working with MakeWith, but I’m one of their teaching partners now so more to come with them! I’ll do Intro to Darning with them in September~

I still made a few new things, including a some more multi-color safety vests, a custom sun hat for my friend Emma, and a new fancy outfit for the wedding I’m going to next week (which you’ll see later!)

I also went blueberry picking, camping, swimming at the river (a million times), and of course to my most favorite event of the year, the kite festival in Long Beach, WA.

And as always, I am here to inform you of where you can find me next - and in September and October, it’s mending and quilting!
